Project Name: Replicating Evidence-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) Programs to Scale in Multiple Settings to Advance Equity through the Adolescent Lifespan
Project Overview: The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, School of Public Health, will implement a 5-year project replicating evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in high-need settings throughout the Harris County region. The goal of this project is to improve sexual and reproductive health outcomes, promote positive youth development, and advance health equity for adolescents, their families, and communities. Several evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs will be implemented for youth aged 10-21, across three settings (in minority-serving institutions of higher education, public housing communities, and juvenile justice agencies). Partnerships will be established throughout the community to facilitate implementation at program sites as well as connections to adolescent-friendly supportive services. The project aims to reach 21,515 youth, 3,500 parents and caregivers, and 1,500 youth service providers.
