The Office of Adolescent Health (OAH), which merged with the Office of Population Affairs (OPA) in June 2019, administers the Teen Pregnancy Prevention (TPP) program to implement and evaluate teen pregnancy prevention programs. It is one of six federal evidence-based initiatives that use the best evidence available to address social issues. From July 2020 to August 2023 (Fiscal Years 2020-2023), these grant recipients:
- Implemented evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in communities with demonstrated great need
- Increased capacity in communities to serve vulnerable youth, including homeless youth, parenting youth, and those in juvenile detention and foster care
- Rigorously evaluated interventions that could contribute to adolescent optimal health, prevent teen pregnancy, and reduce sexually transmitted infection rates
- Tested new, innovative approaches to combating teen pregnancy
