The Office of Population Affairs (OPA) has received several awards for excellence in marketing, communication, and the creation of digital health resources.
Title X 50th Anniversary Video Featured in APHA Film Festival
OPA’s Title X 50th Anniversary video was selected as a featured short film in the American Public Health Association (APHA) Public Health Film Festival during the APHA 2021 Annual Meeting and Expo. The video describes the accomplishments of the Title X family planning clinics over the past 50 years and how the program has helped increased access to a broad range of family planning and related preventive healthcare for millions of low-income or uninsured individuals.
OPA’s What It's Like Video Series Wins 2021 Hermes Creative Award
OPA was recognized with a 2021 Hermes Gold award in the Government Video category for the "What It's Like" Video Series, which shares adolescent perspectives on health from Teen Pregnancy Prevention program grantees in California and Tennessee. The video series includes footage taken by a professional videographer and from grantee youth who used their phones to film and interview each other. The Hermes Creative Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications and are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).
OPA Video on Physical Activity Featured in APHA Film Festival
OPA’s “What It’s Like: Physical Activity” video was selected as a featured short film in the American Public Health Association (APHA) Public Health Film Festival during the APHA 2020 Annual Meeting and Expo. The video, which demonstrates the importance of physical activity in adolescence, features youth who participated in programs run by OPA’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention program.
