The Office of Population Affairs (OPA) has received several awards for excellence in marketing, communication, and the creation of digital health resources.


OPA Wins 2022 Digital Health Awards for Website and Youth Create! Compilation Video

The Digital Health Awards (DHA) recognized OPA with awards for its website and Youth Create! compilation video. DHA honors the best digital health resources for consumers and health professionals and is sponsored by The Health information Resource Center (HIRC).

The OPA website won a silver award in the Web-based Digital Health category. The OPA website features information on OPA grant programs; research and evaluation in the adolescent health, reproductive health, and family planning fields; reproductive health across the lifespan; and key topics in adolescent health and development.

OPA’s Youth Create! compilation video won a merit award in the Digital Health Media/Publications category. OPA launched Youth Create! to engage youth and generate youth-created content, which includes multimedia, written works, and visual art. The compilation video highlights youth’s submissions to the call for submissions in 2021.

Title X 50th Anniversary Video Featured in APHA Film Festival

OPA’s Title X 50th Anniversary video was selected as a featured short film in the American Public Health Association (APHA) Public Health Film Festival during the APHA 2021 Annual Meeting and Expo. The video describes the accomplishments of the Title X family planning clinics over the past 50 years and how the program has helped increased access to a broad range of family planning and related preventive health care for millions of low-income or uninsured individuals.

OPA’s What It's Like Video Series Wins 2021 Hermes Creative Award

OPA was recognized with a 2021 Hermes Gold award in the Government Video category for the "What It's Like" Video Series, which shares adolescent perspectives on health from Teen Pregnancy Prevention program grantees in California and Tennessee. The video series includes footage taken by a professional videographer and from grantee youth who used their phones to film and interview each other. The Hermes Creative Awards honor excellence in marketing and communications and are administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).

OPA Video on Physical Activity Featured in APHA Film Festival

OPA’s “What It’s Like: Physical Activity” video was selected as a featured short film in the American Public Health Association (APHA) Public Health Film Festival during the APHA 2020 Annual Meeting and Expo. The video, which demonstrates the importance of physical activity in adolescence, features youth who participated in programs run by OPA’s Teen Pregnancy Prevention program.
