Project Name: New York City Teens Connection Expansion
Project Overview: The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) will implement and scale up New York City Teens Connection (NYCTC), a model for decreasing teen pregnancy rates in low-resourced neighborhoods. NYCTC will work through partnerships and systems to bring evidence-based programming and clinic linkages to youth in The South Bronx and North and Central Brooklyn. Specifically, NYCTC will scale up a robust project from DOHMH to implement an expansive and diverse set of evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention programs in schools, clinics, and youth-serving organizations. NYCTC will also build on existing relationships with school and clinical partners to link school partners to healthcare options. The project aims to reach over 65,000 youth by 2028.
