Intervention Name: Yes and Know

Project Overview: Education, Training, and Research Associates (ETR) and its evaluation partner, the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), propose a rigorous evaluation of Yes and Know, a fully virtual intervention that integrates group-based education with digital tools to strengthen relationships and healthy life skills in 14–19-year-olds to reduce unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Yes and Know, based on the original In the Know intervention and scientific evidence, aims to promote positive health and well-being in adolescents and provides timely information and resources to reduce unprotected vaginal or anal sex. The evaluation will be led by UCSF and will use a cluster randomized controlled trial to compare the short-term (3-month post-intervention) and long-term (12-month post-intervention) outcomes of the Yes and Know program to a similarly structured nutrition and physical activity program. This study aims to add to the literature on technology-based sexual health programs, particularly self-paced, asynchronous learning made possible by technology.
