Program Summary
Project Name: Advancing Sexual Health and Equity in Philadelphia with Youth Experiencing Poverty
Project Overview: AccessMatters will utilize its experience and expertise in healthcare network management to engage community organizations and stakeholders in addressing the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) needs of youth aged 13-19 who are living in poverty in Philadelphia. The goal is to see a reduction in unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) by addressing these needs through educational, clinical, and community-based settings.
The SRH outcomes for Philadelphia’s youth who are living in poverty are significantly poorer than for the average youth in Philadelphia and in the United States. The project intends to reach 1,655 youth, 250 parents or caregivers, and 200 professionals each year in educational, clinical, and community-based settings.
