Program Summary

The University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, dba Preven®, is an umbrella agency that has overseen the Title X program in Puerto Rico since the 1970s. It delivers services to approximately 10,000 clients through subrecipient agencies including university-based organizations, independent practice organizations, and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs). As a Title X recipient, Preven® provides a broad range of family planning services, including pregnancy prevention and birth spacing, pregnancy testing and counseling, assistance to achieve pregnancy, basic infertility services, sexually transmitted infection (STI) services, and other preconception health services. The services are voluntary, confidential, and provided regardless of ability to pay.
