Program Summary
Project Name: Cabarrus Health Alliance Advancing Equity in Adolescent Health through Evidence-Based Teen Pregnancy Prevention Programs and Services in Cabarrus and Rowan counties, North Carolina
Project Overview: Cabarrus Health Alliance (CHA) will implement evidence-based programs (EBPs) for youth ages 13-19 in school, foster care, and community-based settings in Cabarrus and Rowan counties in North Carolina. EBPs will be replicated to scale, with a specific focus on supporting Black and Hispanic youth. In addition, CHA will foster supportive youth environments by implementing EBPs with parents, caregivers, and other youth-serving professionals. To ensure project sustainably, ownership, and systems-level change, CHA will engage 1) a Learning Collaborative composed of partner and community leadership and healthcare professionals and 2) a Youth Advisory Council made up of adolescents across the three settings. CHA aims to reach 3,916 adolescents and 210 parents, caregivers, and youth-serving professionals annually.
