Program Summary
Project Name: Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, Inc. (PPGNY) Supporting Teens' Access and Rights (Project STAR)
Project Overview: Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, Inc. (PPGNY) will implement Project Supporting Teens’ Access and Rights (STAR) to advance health equity and to and improve the sexual and reproductive health (SRH) outcomes of youth in New York City (NYC). The project will replicate age-appropriate, medically accurate and evidence-based education programs across a network of partners in 15 NYC community districts.
The project will include a parent-to-parent peer education component for the parents, guardians, and other adults in young people's lives, as well as training for youth-serving professionals. Participants will also be connected to other resources and services that are adolescent friendly. Programming will be offered in three settings: middle and high schools; after school and out-of-school time programs offered by community-based organizations (CBOs); and residential facilities serving youth experiencing homelessness.

Target Population: Youth aged 10-24 and youth who identify as LGBTQ+, youth who are English language learners (ELL), youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)
