Program Summary

The Louisiana Department of Health is a state agency that has been a Title X grantee since the 1970s. Its Reproductive Health Program (RHP) serves approximately 30,000 clients per year through a network of Parish Health Unit (PHU) direct service sites and community health centers operated by subrecipient agencies. As a Title X recipient, RHP provides a broad range of family planning services, including pregnancy prevention and birth spacing, pregnancy testing and counseling, assistance to achieve pregnancy, basic infertility services, sexually transmitted infection (STI) services, and other preconception health services. The services are voluntary, confidential, and provided regardless of ability to pay.
