Program Summary

Project Name: UT Teen Health Optimally Changing the Map in Bexar County

Project Overview: UT Teen Health (UTTH) will replicate two effective programs, Positive Potential and the Love Notes Sexual Risk Avoidance Evidence-Based Program, in three Bexar County school districts that demonstrate high need. These programs will promote optimal health for adolescents in grades 6-12, using a sustainable model to train facilitators to reach 16,000 adolescents annually. The programs will also strengthen family/caregiver and teen communication through the Need to Know Community Program, enhance linkages to community clinics through the Family/Clinic Interface, and provide youth with meaningful leadership opportunities through the Youth Leadership Team.

Target Population: Adolescents in grades 6-12
