Program Summary
Project Name: Supporting Teens in Queens to Promote Sexual Health (STIQ)
Project Overview: Planned Parenthood of Greater New York, Inc. (PPGNY) will implement Project STIQ (Supporting Teens in Queens to Promote Sexual Health) to promote healthy behaviors and reduce the teen birth rate and related negative sexual and reproductive health outcomes. The project will replicate effective sexual education curricula including Be Proud! Be Responsible!, and Project AIM. The project will include a parent-to-parent peer education component for parents, guardians, and other caring adults in young people's lives, as well as training for youth-serving professionals. Programming will be bolstered by linkages to youth-friendly sexual and reproductive healthcare and other supportive and positive youth development services. Project STIQ aims to serve 3,333 youth aged 11-17 and 300 adults/guardians each year.
