Program Summary
Project Name: Project REACH (Reproductive Education to Achieve Community Health)
Project Overview: Oklahoma City County Health Department will implement Project REACH (Reproductive Education to Achieve Community Health), an innovative adolescent health improvement initiative focused on middle and high schools in three Oklahoma County metro public school districts with student populations that reflect high teen birth rates, persistent health disparities, and increased adverse childhood experiences. REACH will use the proven effective curricula Nu-Culture, Get Real, Positive Prevention PLUS, and Love Notes to address systems, equity issues, populations, geographic areas, and programs identified as priorities in the community’s comprehensive teen pregnancy prevention plan. The initiative’s efforts will be delivered through school, clinic, and community settings in seven zip codes. Additionally, more than 500 adults will be engaged in building protective factors and supports for the youth each project year. The project aims to serve 5,500 youth each year.
