Program Summary
Project Name: Puerto Rico Optimal System ChAnge (PROSa) for Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program
Project Overview: Carlos Albizu University and its partners (Office of Human Development Program, Sor Isolina Ferre Centers, Urban Strategies) will implement the Puerto Rico Optimal System ChAnge (PROSa) for Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program, which will provide effective pregnancy prevention curricula and comprehensive supportive services to youth, families, and community members in Puerto Rico. PROSa will implement four proven effective curricula: 1) Adult Identity Mentoring, 2) Friends Resilience, 3) Love Notes, and 4) Parenting Fundamentals. The project’s main goals are to improve the optimal health of adolescents and reduce teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STI) and associated risk behaviors through access to high-quality and culturally specific sexual and reproductive health services and stakeholder education. PROSa aims to reach 1,900 - 3,200 youth and 1,200 - 1,500 parents/caregivers along the three-year project period.
