Program Summary

Project Overview: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania (BGCWP) will implement the Healthy Futures program to serve socioeconomically disadvantaged youth ages 12-18 in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The program will offer the evidence-based Wyman's Teen Outreach Program (TOP), a teen pregnancy prevention program that includes a comprehensive, culturally responsive, and medically accurate curriculum. The program will also provide participants with support services, such as referrals to mental healthcare. BGCWP expects to serve 800 adolescents and families each year through the Healthy Futures program.

Target Population: Socioeconomically disadvantaged youth ages 12-18

Geographic Area Served (Urbanicity of Community): Allegheny County, PA (Suburban, Rural)

Teen Birth Rate in Area Served (Per 1,000)*: 15 for females ages 15-19 (44 for black teens and 51 for Hispanic teens)
