Project Overview: Aiming for Healthy Families will implement YOUTH RISE (Responsibility, Integrity, Self-Control) = Empowerment: A Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program at four school districts, targeting 750 teens ages 14-19 and their families. The YOUTH RISE program focuses on addressing risk factors at the youth, family, and community levels. Student participants will receive 12 hours of age-appropriate, medically accurate, and evidence-based information through the Love Notes Sexual Risk Avoidance (SRA) curriculum and will have opportunities to participate in Youth Action Teams. In addition, students’ parents and caregivers will receive at least 75 minutes of parent support education to strengthen family communication. The program will use community mobilization activities to strengthen capacity within the target communities.
